Adrian Newey OBE, chief technical officer of Formula One's Red Bull Racing team, has taken delivery of a Williams SportJet 460 tender to complement his new, 27.4-metre Oyster 885.
Newey visited Williams' headquarters in Oxfordshire to collect the tender, after which he tested it on the company's 80-metre lake alongside commercial director Mathew Hornsby and other members of the team.
Purpose-built for yachts exceeding 25 metres, the SportJet features a carbon exterior and interiors that incorporate white upholstery, teak decking and black caulking. It has capacity for six passengers.
"To have such a preeminent Formula One engineer select our SportJet 460 as his tender is a real honour for us," said Hornsby. "We were delighted to welcome Adrian to our headquarters to take delivery and we look forward to following Adrian’s circumnavigation in 2024 with our SportJet 460 as part of the journey."
The Williams SportJet is capable of speeds of up to 48mph.
