35m Green Marine sailing yacht Sojana for sale

17 October 2023 • Written by Nick Jeffery

The 35-metre Green Marine sailing yacht Sojana has joined the market with Marc Haendle of Camper & Nicholsons.

Sojana was delivered by Green Marine in 2003 as a custom high-performance ketch, designed by pedigree racing yacht studio Farr Yacht Design. The brief was to build the longest and fastest yacht capable of being handled by the owner and friends with minimal crew.

Sojana is asking €5,500,000

In cruising mode, she runs with a core crew of five but can easily accommodate a full race crew as required. Her main mast stands 41.8-metres-tall, with a 33.9-metre mizzen mast aft, and she flies over 1,000 square metres of sail downwind. In racing mode, she can reach in excess of 15-20 knots in 10-15 knots of breeze. Sojana, under the previous ownership of the late Sir Peter Harrison, built an impressive résumé of sailing victories.

Sojana completed a full cosmetic and technical refit in 2016 including fixtures & fittings, interior furnishings, mechanical equipment, rigging and sails. More major upgrades were made in 2022, including the installation of a new engine, the servicing of all generators, a new custom tender was added and 90 per cent of the electronics were replaced.

Her interior, by Ken Freivokh, reflects an age of traditional yachting with dark mahogany wood panelling and gold-plated fittings. Accommodation is for eight guests in three cabins consisting of two doubles and a twin, the master being located forward. There is also a small "kids cabin".

The main saloon has in-built seating and comfortable sofas around a bespoke chess board and table. Stairs lead up onto her aft deck which is relatively minimal and clean.

Accommodation is for up to eight guests in three cabins

When under power, the 124GT yacht for sale is driven by a single 491hp Yanmar engine with a top speed of approximately 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. She has a range of 1,200 nautical miles.

Sojana is asking €5,550,000 with VAT paid.
