A new build 50.4 metre sailing catamaran dubbed Blackcat 50 has been listed for sale by Y.CO.
Designed by Malcolm McKeon, Blackcat 50 would be built in prepeg carbon by Finnish yard Baltic Yachts with a build time of 30 to 36 months from signature of contract. Accommodation is currently configured as five cabins for 10 guests in a master suite, VIP suite, two doubles and a twin while there would be quarters for 10 crew in this yacht for sale.
The interior is designed in the style of a New York loft, with glass wrapped overheads adding space and light. A huge saloon and dining area are complemented by a forward sun terrace with an infinity pool and seating. Different layout options include a vast owner’s suite with a private terrace or a charter layout with similar sized suites.
Because Blackcat is a multihull, it is extremely lightweight at 200 tons and boasts low drag. This gives an exceptional performance — with a predicted top speed of over 30 knots, she would be the fastest sailing superyacht ever built.
Her rig and sails package has been developed and optimised by North Sails and Southern Spars to an ultra-advanced technical specification while, under power, twin 650hp Caterpillar engines would give her a cruising speed of 16 knots.
The price of project Blackcat 50 is available on application.
