The 55-metre sailing yacht Elena of London has rejoined the brokerage market, exclusively listed for sale with Maël Fiolet of Camper & Nicholsons.
Delivered in 2009, Elena of London was constructed in aluminium by Spanish yard Factoria Naval de Marin. She was built as an exact replica of the original multi-regatta-winning schooner Elena, who was designed by Nathanael G. Herreshoff and launched in 1910. The original sailing yacht is most famous for her participation in the 1928 King’s Cup trans-Atlantic race, sailing from New York to Santander in a record-breaking time.
This sailing yacht for sale features accommodation for up to 10 guests in four cabins. The large master cabin sports a desk and comfortable seating, while the remaining cabins — two doubles and two twins — are each fitted with private controlled air-conditioning and have ample storage space. All cabins benefit from private en suite bathrooms. Meanwhile, there is accommodation for a crew of eight.
Elena of London sports a classic "Gentleman-style" interior – designed by Steve McLaren – that is reminiscent of a period country home while still maintaining modern comforts. Her traditional main saloon hosts twin sofas and homely bookshelves, with natural light flowing through numerous portholes.
Moving outside, the schooner's expansive deck space is perfect for socialising both fore and aft with al fresco dining opportunities amidships. In 2012, she was fitted with a new boom, sail plan and bowsprit based on the original 1910 sail plan.
"Elena of London embodies the golden age of yachting while offering impeccable modern craftsmanship and exhilarating sailing performance," shared her broker. "Designed for both competitive regatta racing and luxurious world cruising, she is a true collector’s piece, seamlessly blending heritage with contemporary comforts."
Elena of London has competed in some of the world’s most prestigious regattas, including the St. Tropez Classic, Les Voiles de St. Barth, Antigua Classic and the Monaco Classic Week, and champions a history of podium finishes.
Powered by a MAN V12 engine, the schooner has a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots.
Elena of London is lying in Sanremo, Italy, asking €8,995,000.
