The classic 60.3-metre motor yacht Paloma has been listed for sale with David Legrand and Jan Jaap Minnema of Fraser Monaco.
Delivered in 1965 by Japanese engineering corporation Ishikawajima-Harima, Paloma was constructed in steel to ABS class and an in-house design from the yard. She is a superyacht steeped in history and exploration, having completed the Atlantic crossing an impressive twenty times.
Retaining her classic profile and transatlantic and transpacific capabilities, the 617GT motor yacht underwent a full rebuild in 2004 and completed further refits in 2018 and 2020, which have left her at the "cutting edge of comfort, technology and efficiency", according to her broker. Remarkably, the 617GT motor yacht has had only two owners since her launch some 60 years ago.
Up to 14 guests are accommodated across seven cabins on board, including a main deck master suite and two double cabins, two twin cabins and two single cabins located on the lower deck. Meanwhile, there are quarters for a crew of 16.
The interior decor reflects an understated contemporary English style with a mixture of fine, neutral fabrics complemented by her original wood panelling which enhances the warm and cosy atmosphere.
Paloma's three generous decks offer plenty of living spaces for guests to enjoy. She has a vast main saloon with several cosy sitting areas, a large sofa, small dining tables, bar facilities, an office area and two televisions. Continuing towards the bow, there is another, more relaxed, TV lounge, while her upper deck is home to a nautical-themed bar and sofas.
A highlight outside is the sundeck, which boasts a hot tub with panoramic views and steps leading down to the expansive upper deck aft fitted with further sunpads, loungers and an al fresco dining table. Meanwhile, the main deck aft features an arranged lounging area and additional dining table which opens "seamlessly" into the main saloon.
The yacht for sale is powered by twin 1,000hp Caterpillar engines providing a cruising speed of 14 knots and a maximum speed of 16 knots. Paloma also benefits from at-anchor stabilisers for additional comfort.
Currently lying in Valletta Port, Malta, Paloma is asking €8,750,000.
