Brokerage boat of the month: automobile-inspired rebuild of 105m H3

31 July 2024 • Written by Nick Jeffery

Every month we place a spotlight on one of the best-designed brokerage boats that have joined the market, changed agents or have had a significant price drop. For July, the 105-metre yacht H3 is our Brokerage Boat of the Month.

Reymond Langton Design was responsible for both the exterior and interior redesign, while Lateral Naval Architects and Oceanco collaborated on her naval architecture. She picked up a Neptune at the 2024 World Superyacht Awards and she comes with a full shipyard "new build" warranty. Now, she is lying in Monaco where the yacht is listed for sale with Will Bagshaw of Edmiston.

BOAT's brokerage editor says:

Stepping aboard the 105-metre Oceanco H3 at an Edmiston open day in Monaco in July was a very different experience to being invited aboard Indian Empress, as she was previously named, on the eve of the F1 Grand Prix many years ago. I would not have known I was on the same vessel. In fact, only about half of the steel shell remains from the former yacht and the new H3 is classed as a new build. Reymond Langton Design has created a contemporary masterpiece and her new owner will even be able to say she is recycled.

RLD explained: "The rebuild works included increasing the vessel’s length by 10 metres at the aft end to not only integrate the new pool but also to create a spacious beach club on the lower deck. The impressive grand entrance to the vessel, with its dual staircase wrapping around the waterfall feature of the infinity pool, entices guests up to the main deck and into the interior."

Richard Hein, founder of The A Group (TAG) and original naval architect, was also on board and showed off the wireless wheelhouse, also pointing out that the VIP suite is equal to the master suite with its private deck aft. He said: "H3 is a long love story between Oceanco and TAG, allowing a beautiful 'lady' to be built twice by the same team."

The broker says:

Edmiston's Will Bagshaw said: "It is immensely rewarding working with H3. Seeing what is possible when the owners give their faith and trust over to the design team – Reymond Langton Design & The A Group – and to the shipyard, Oceanco, to execute this visualisation. Only by all parties working in perfect unison was such a project and vision possible!"

What makes her special?

Reymond Langton Design stated: "Groundbreaking in its innovation and reborn as never seen before, H3 was going to be a trailblazer from the start. Unprecedented in its scale, the rebuild and subsequent re-design of the vessel obliged us as the designer to reflect this avant-garde approach, and the Reymond Langton team was thrilled to take on the challenge.

On the exterior, straight lines softened into flowing curves, warm grey and white tones envelop the hull and sculptured superstructure, while the intricately thought-through exterior lighting design accentuates the automotive-inspired forms, ensuring that the profile is instantly recognisable both during the day and after sunset.

The refined and balanced proportions of the sleek profile provide generous deck spaces, encouraging guests to truly indulge in the extraordinary experience of being at sea – whether it’s at the panoramic Jacuzzi on the sundeck, at the formal dining table of the secluded winter garden or by the open-air cinema on the owner’s deck, or from the sun-soaked seven-metre infinity pool on the main deck."

Reymond Langton Design continued: "On the owner’s deck, the climate-controlled winter garden can accommodate up to 32 guests in the formal dining space for seamless indoor-outdoor living, while the owner’s lounge features a more intimate dining space for 14, with a spacious lounge that doubles as a cinema at the heart of this space.

Perched on sun deck is the panoramic gym with cutting-edge equipment and sea views, whilst for a more relaxing experience guests can escape to the serene spa area on the lower deck, complete with a hammam, sensory shower, hair salon and massage and beauty rooms to satisfy every well-being need. For the adventure seekers and those wanting to really indulge in the proximity to the ocean, head to the beach club and test out the vast array of water toys from the dive store, or enjoy a sunset yoga session on the waterside swim platform."
