The 40-metre Alloy Yachts motor yacht Ad Lib has been sold with Burgess' John St Hill representing the seller and Yachtmasters introducing the buyer.
Delivered in New Zealand in 2006, she was designed with a low profile by Dubois Naval Architects and built in aluminium. Her interior was styled by Donald Starkey.
Accommodation is for nine guests in four cabins, the owner's suite – with his and hers bathrooms sharing a central shower room – being forward on the main deck, reached via the private office. Two double cabins and one twin, with additional Pullman berth, are located on the lower deck, forward of which are quarters for a crew of up to six.
Her main saloon is contemporary and inviting with a sailing boat model acting as a visual screen between the seating area and formal dining table. Steps lead up from the lobby to the raised wheelhouse and on to the flybridge with bench seating.
Informal open-air "bistrot" dining is enjoyed on the aft deck where there is a sit-up bar. and on the flybridge deck where a glass-panelled hard Bimini provides a degree of shade.
Forward to port is a gym with rowing machine and exercise bike. Ad Lib has a side-opening tender garage that also houses a dive compressor.
The 294GT yacht was built to Lloyd's class to be MCA compliant. She is powered by twin 1,450hp Caterpillar diesels, giving her a cruising speed of 13 knots and maximum speed of 16.5 knots. Range at 10 knots is 4,500 nautical miles and she benefits from zero-speed stabilisers.
Ad Lib was last asking €8,750,000 and lying near Nice, France.
