On 21 June 2024, BOAT International hosted a very special Newport Summer Social for Owners’ Club members and guests ahead of the Newport Bermuda Race. Guests were first invited to revel in the race atmosphere at the starting line party at Fort Adams State Park, enjoying some lunchtime drinks from the prime viewing spot on top of the fort.

In the evening, the Sailing Museum and National Hall of Fame offered the perfect setting for an intimate dinner which was sponsored by annual partner Bermuda Tourism Authority, along with event partners, Camper & NicholsonsBelmond and Aston Martin.

The venue

The Sailing Museum and National Hall of Fame is home to many inspiring stories and the celebration of incredible individuals from the world of sailing, making it a fitting venue to host our dinner. Guests enjoyed a welcome reception exploring the many exhibits the museum had to offer, followed by a three-course surf ‘n’ turf menu.

The sponsors

At dinner, Bermuda Tourism Authority welcomed guests with their traditional Dark ‘n’ Stormy cocktail and presented each guest an after-dinner favour, a mini bottle of Gosling rum with a Rum Swizzle recipe. Belmond gifted guests a beautiful coffee table book which shares the stories of Belmond, giving a taster of their hotels, trains, boats and safaris, while Aston Martin parked a DB12 car outside of the sailing museum and offered complimentary extended test drives for guests of the event.
