World’s largest superyacht berth created at Porto Montenegro

18 March 2016 • Written by Sophia Heath

The largest superyacht berth in the world has been built at Porto Montenegro. The new 250 metre berth sees the marina shoot to the top of the list of the world’s largest berths.

The vast berth means that 180 metre Azzam, currently the largest superyacht in the world, could easily be accommodated at the marina. Porto Montenegro is therefore preparing for the record breaking superyachts of the future.

The new berth is the same length as five Olympic swimming pools

The new berth is the equivalent to more than two and a half football pitches, five Olympic swimming pools and would take Usain Bolt approximately 24.7 seconds to sprint.

The new berth sees the marina overtake One Ocean Port Vell in Barcelona, which has a 190 metre berth, and Grand Harbour Marina in Valletta that has a 135 metre berth.

Superyacht heaven Porto Montenegro was officially opened in 2009 in the stunning Bay of Kotor and has quickly gained a reputation as one of the yachting hotspots of the Mediterranean.
