Where is it?
Nestled within the bustling cultural hub of Downtown Miami, The Mandarin Oriental hotel occupies a prime position looking out over South Beach. The hotel’s spa offers luxurious and innovative treatments within easy distance of a number of superyacht marinas and attractions.
Why the hype?
An intoxicating mix of white-hot art previews, A-list soirées and wild Latino nights: Miami during peak season can be a little wearing, even for the most ardent socialite. Those in the know step off their superyacht to seek refuge in the cool interior of this 1,400m2 spa, lit by flickering candles and scented with Nitiraj incense.
What to Have?
Its panoramic treatment suites – with spectacular Biscayne Bay waterfront views – offer a panoply of anti-ageing options to help you keep pace. Its Glacial White Caviar Facial can’t quite turn back time but it will ensure you are ship-shape and shiny for the next diary engagement. The 90-minute ritual uses products from Miriam Quevedo’s Glacial White Caviar line and includes a scalp massage, facial cleanse and targeted facial serum. The highlight of the experience is an oxygen face mask that produces the delightful sensation of bubbles dancing on the skin. Once revived you can slip back in with the fashionable crowd on the terrace of the hotel’s La Mar restaurant, where Armani-suited men and waifs in impossibly tight dresses sip pisco sours.
Best by boat:
Epic Marina is just the other side of the Miami River. Easy to reach from the ocean and airport, it offers deep water slips along a 275 metre concrete pier.
