28 March 2025 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Each week we select one of world’s finest superyachts for charter. This week BOAT takes a closer look at the adventurous 63.4-metre SuRi, a go-anywhere globetrotter with one of the best water toy collections in the charter fleet.

63.4-metre Halter flagship SuRi' has traversed the globe numerous times. Originally constructed as an offshore support vessel and delivered in 1978, she was an excellent candidate for refit and in 2007 became a luxury yacht. During her conversion, her expansive interior spaces were transformed into inviting, cosy relaxation areas. This luxury charter yacht now provides accommodation for 12 guests across seven spacious cabins, along with quarters for 14 crew members.

You might initially believe that SuRi's main allure lies in her exploration capabilities, but, packed with a thrilling array of toys and a staggering six tenders, she is also all about delivering fun.

Wellness also takes centre stage on this luxury yacht for charter. Along with massages, yoga and meditation sessions, guests can also maintain their fitness regimes in the gym or simply relax in the steam room or the on-deck Jacuzzi.

Described as "sophisticated and chic" by the broker, SuRi's charm lies in her understated elegance. Comfort is of the utmost importance, ensuring that on-board adventures are as enjoyable as possible.

The main saloon is bathed in light, featuring warm cream, white, and taupe accents, complemented by light woods and plenty of texture. A large dining table is situated to starboard, with a bar positioned further forward. Interior spaces are large and open, making her a fine choice for cooler climbs and Arctic passages. Additionally, the observation lounge offers incredible views, courtesy of enormous glazed panels.

In keeping with the cosy charm of a beachside retreat, the sky lounge is furnished with plush, deep-cushioned sofas and offers ample space for gatherings. SuRi is perfectly suited for diverse groups of friends and multi-generational family gatherings. There are plenty of nooks for exciting expert-led debriefs after exciting days spotting wildlife, diving or hiking.

SuRi 's flexible accommodation makes her a top choice for non-family and family charters. The cabin configuration includes four VIP suites and two convertible cabins. The full-beam master suite boasts his-and-hers bathrooms and enjoys the added luxury of an adjoining private lounge and study, should guests need to keep up with work during their adventure. For those who wish to travel with personal staff or supernumeraries, additional cabins are available.

Life on board SuRi

Regardless of your chosen destination, a charter aboard SuRi guarantees an adventure. In warmer climates, the sun deck provides ample space to unwind with a cocktail or a good book, and a detachable canopy can be used to offer shade.

Equally suited to cooler regions, guests can enjoy the spacious Jacuzzi while cruising through Antarctica or perhaps watching the Northern Lights in Iceland. At the end of each day,SuRi's chef can craft everything from exquisite dinners to delightful beach barbecues featuring the catch of the day.

One of SuRi’s coolest spaces is her lower deck lounge, which has a glass-bottomed floor, so that guests can see what’s going on in the shallows below. This room also doubles as a cosy space to watch movies or listen to an evening briefing on the region.

When it comes to fun, this yacht for charter is one of the best, thanks to her mesmerising water toy collection. “SuRi’s toy collection is unmatched,” says Bichon, “and her crew delivers an exceptional level of service.

“What really surprises people is just how much space she has, especially the sun deck and that incredible forward observation lounge,” Bichon adds. “The glass-bottom floor in the lower deck lounge is another standout; it’s something you won’t find on any other yacht like her. She’s built for real adventure, but with all the luxury and style of a five-star retreat.”
