Charter yacht of the week: The exceptional features of the 56m Perini Navi yacht Rosehearty

2 January 2025 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Each week, we take a closer look at the world’s finest superyachts for charter. This week, BOAT steps on board the Perini Navi Cup winner, 56-metre Rosehearty, which is now available for charter in the Caribbean following a 2022 refit...

The 56-metre Rosehearty was built not only for speed and performance under sail but also for exploration. While she may appear at home on the racing circuit, this ketch has embarked on global circumnavigations, undertaking epic adventures through the Northwest Passage, the South Pacific, and Antarctica. Her remarkable journeys, which include navigating the Drake Passage to Cape Horn, earned her the Voyager’s Award at the BOAT International World Superyacht Awards in 2019.

Thanks to her extraordinary sailing capabilities, the yacht's destiny was one of exploration and challenge from the off and it's just one of the reasons why Rosehearty is an exciting member of the charter fleet. On the racing circuit, the yacht secured first place at the 2015 Perini Navi Cup in Porto Cervo and also won the title at the 2017 St Barths Bucket. The 56-metre will compete once again at the 2025 St. Barths Bucket in March this year.

The yacht was built in 2006 by Perini Navi and features an interior by Christian Liaigre, but throughout her life, she has been well maintained and has seen a string of refit work, most recently in 2022. Earlier this year, the yacht was sold and now resides in the Caribbean for the winter season before heading back to the western Mediterranean for the summer.

Key Features

LOA: 56 metres
Builder: Perini Navi
Year: 2006 (2022)
Guests: 12
Crew: 10
Currently cruising: Caribbean

French designer, Christian Liaigre is a name that conjures excitement in yachting, especially when his work is found on a yacht for charter. Rosehearty's styling features a colour palette of oxblood, cream and deep wood panelling. Furthermore, Hermés leather can be found throughout the interior along with pale oak and ebony. The bookshelves, brimming with adventure novels and travel books, add to the allure, while there is ample space on board to unwind on a crisp linen sofa and debrief after a day of exploration.

The dining room on the main deck is also designed with Hermés leather seating and has seating for up to 15. The walls here are decorated with a world map, while the wooden finish adds to the adventure aesthetic.

Sporting a unique on-deck stateroom, accommodation is for a party of up to 12 guests in a generous seven-cabin arrangement. With an interior volume of 499GT, there are generous spaces throughout. The remaining cabins are on the lower deck, comprising a further master, which is full beam, an adjacent double guest suite, two VIP cabins and two twin cabins, with additional Pullmans.

More social spaces can be found on deck, the main naturally being the cockpit, which can be used as an al fresco dining space during the day or a cinema at night for movies under the stars. A raised Jacuzzi can be found on the sundeck, while those who want some peace and quiet can head to the sun loungers on the foredeck.

Guests wishing to maintain their fitness regime while on charter will be pleased to find a well-equipped gym on the lower deck, featuring a bike, rowing machine and free weights. For those committed to achieving their health goals, the chef is readily available to prepare invigorating green juices and protein-rich meals.

Life on board Rosehearty

Rosehearty is impeccably designed for an exhilarating adventure, but, as with any charter yacht, it’s the crew that brings the experience to life. Fortunately, the central agent has emphasised that the skills possessed by the crew of 10 are exceptionally noteworthy. “Rosehearty's super experienced and enthusiastic crew time after time deliver outstanding experiences to their guests," says Edmiston’s Rana Johnson. “They go above and beyond on all details and are always happy to assist and indulge their guests in whatever adventures they wish, from scuba and free diving to fishing and wakeboarding.”

Among the crew, there is a drone pilot who creates excellent video productions for their guests so they can relive their Rosehearty memories. “My favourite feature of the yacht is her amazing crew,” adds Johnson. “I enjoy watching their calm quiet competence on board in all aspects. I also love exploring new ports in her classic 11.5-metre Hinckley tender and dedicated driver, Emerson.
