Each week we select one of the finest superyachts available for charter. This week BOAT takes a closer look at the 44.2-metre Benetti, Watercolours, a relatively new addition to the charter fleet having been delivered in 2022...
Having joined the fleet in 2022, the 44.2-metre, tri-deck superyacht Watercolours is cruising the Caribbean in immaculate, turn-key condition. Built by Italian shipyard Benetti, Watercolours is part of the successful Diamond 145 series and was the third yacht of her kind to be launched. The yacht's white exterior, designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, boasts epoxy fillers and hand-polished steel bridges, creating a classic and aesthetically pleasing finish. The light-filled interiors, crafted by Benetti's Interior Style Department, feature separate pathways to discreetly divide entryways for guests and crew. This design is highly effective in the charter market, allowing the crew to remain unobtrusive while on board.
One of Watercolours' key features is her sundeck, boasting 102 square metres of relaxation with its al fresco dining area and entertaining space. You can even cosy up and watch a film up here, as the area can also be configured as an al fresco cinema. The sundeck is particularly large for a yacht in this size category and a great feature for those looking to soak up some Caribbean rays this charter season.

As guests step onto the aft deck, they will be greeted by the expansive outdoor spaces of Watercolours. The aft deck features a generous seating area, providing the perfect spot to enjoy a cocktail on board before heading up to dinner. The primary dining area is located one level up on the upper deck aft and boasts a large, circular dining table that can accommodate the entire complement of guests. Designed with entertainment in mind, Watercolours offers ample space to host larger gatherings quayside, with guests able to spread out across the aft deck areas and sundeck.
Her interiors are also wonderfully spacious and the main saloon is flooded with natural light thanks to her light colour scheme and large windows. Large pieces of colourful artwork also grace the walls, complemented by plush cream sofas. Described as cool and contemporary by the broker, the interior is defined by bright neutral tones, warm furnishings, and subtle hints of gold. There is also marble throughout the interior, adding to the yacht’s sophistication. Through the large glass sliding doors on the upper deck is an additional saloon and interior dining table, the latter set below a crystal chandelier.
"Watercolours exudes effortless elegance and comfort," says TJB Super Yacht’s Ramona Cebotenco. "Her airy, calming neutral tones create a sense of serenity, while her spacious interiors and multiple lounging areas – both inside and on deck – offer the perfect retreat."
Other impressive spaces include the beach club which has a large seating area so that guests can hop straight into the water or simply relax near the sea. Accommodation on board is for 12 guests across five well-appointed cabins. This includes the full-beam owner’s cabin, which has a large en suite, dressing room and gym.
Life on board Watercolours
If you're seeking a yacht for a relaxing experience, Watercolours in the Bahamas is an excellent choice. Up at the foredeck, the yacht for charter has built-in sunpads that are an ideal spot for sunbathing or perhaps a cocktail. The Jacuzzi on the foredeck also provides the ultimate space for rest and relaxation.
But like all good charter yachts, it’s not just the onboard amenities that make her stand out. "One of the most exceptional features of Watercolours is her outstanding crew," says Cebotenco. "While it may seem obvious to highlight, the rotational captains truly go above and beyond to deliver impeccable service and an unparalleled experience for guests."
Dining on board is also a highlight with Chef Amy Wiffen in the galley. "[Wiffen is] highly skilled in a variety of global cuisines, she brings an extra-special touch to every dish," adds Cebotenco. "The glowing feedback we received from the broker network at the recent Antigua Charter Show is a testament to the level of hospitality on board."
But of course, a lot of the fun of Watercolours is down to her watertoys and equipment. Cebotenco explains that her extensive collection of professional fishing equipment is what sets her apart. "Guests can take advantage of a range of rods, reels and lures and head out on the Scout 42 tender for a day on the water. Best of all, you can bring your fresh catch back to the yacht and enjoy a barbecue feast under the stars – the ultimate charter experience."
