Charter yacht of the week: The brand new 37m Benetti Motopanfilo Dawo

31 January 2025 • Written by Georgia Boscawen

Each week, we delve into the details of one of the world’s finest superyachts for charter. This week, we have something brand new (so new, in fact, that the majority of images are renderings), from Benetti: the 37-metre Motopanfilo, Dawo...

Dawo, the newest addition to Benetti's 37-metre Motopanfilo collection, is making her debut in the charter fleet having been delivered in January 2025. A testament to Benetti’s iconic 1960s Motopanfilo model, the new 39-metre has been designed to be a classic. Her exteriors are well balanced with a defining line down the superstructure that disguises the air draught and pulls her centre of gravity down towards the waterline.

The yacht’s interior, by Lazzarini & Pickering, is filled with Loro Piana furnishings and follows a "nautical colour scheme" throughout. Natural light floods the open-plan communal spaces thanks to the enormous glass windows in the main saloon and in the upper deck sky lounge saloon. New charter yachts always create a bit of a stir on the market, and Dawo will be no exception. Now taking bookings for her inaugural season in Croatia, we look into the key features that make Dawo a top choice for charter in 2025.

Key Features

LOA: 36.9m
Builder: Benetti
Year: 2025
Guests: 11
Cruising: Croatia

Characterised by two large circular sofas set around a large white coffee table, the key to the main saloon is space. Dawo’s enormous windows feel like they wrap around the main saloon, thanks to the curvature in the wooden panelled ceiling. The space is crowned by a large dining table for the full complement of guests. Like many successful charter yachts, the finish is clean and neutral with plenty of natural light.

Well suited to family charters, there is ample space on board for family gatherings as well as places for hiding away like the two sun loungers on the foredeck. The feel on board is that of 60s old style with an updated finish.

A second sky lounge saloon can be found on the upper deck. This is where, to aft, guests will find an impressive al fresco dining table that is shaded by the deck above. Views here are pretty spectacular and the table is placed so guests can enjoy pre or post-dinner cocktails in the lounge, all with panoramic, elevated views.

Out on deck is where the yacht comes into her own for charter. The yacht's huge foredeck is predominantly guest space rather than technical and has a large foredeck whirlpool that can be enjoyed day or night. This is faced by two sun loungers and a bank of cushioned sun pads with optional canopy shade.

On the sun deck, often regarded as the crowning jewel of this charter yacht, Dawo boasts an array of sun pads, an al fresco dining table perfect for leisurely lunches, and a bar where sundowner cocktails are expertly served. It is in this inviting space that most charter guests spend most of their time, especially this summer, as they revel in the breathtaking views of Croatia’s islands.

Dawo’s fold-down stern transom also creates a huge terrace at the water’s edge for additional deck space. This allows easy access to and from the water and further lounge space. It’s also big enough to swing a golf club.

Life on board Dawo

Dawo has accommodation on board for 11 guests across five ensuite cabins. The master cabin is positioned on the main deck and has his-and-hers bathrooms connected by a walk-through shower. On the lower deck, there are two VIP suites, a flexible cabin that can be configured as either a twin or double, and a twin cabin with an additional Pullman bunk.

There are seven crew on board who may be new to the project but have been working together for some time having followed the owner to this new project. They are on hand to walk you through the yacht’s exciting toy box, whip up excellent cocktails on the sundeck bar and show you the best of Croatia this inaugural season.

Her toybox is brimming with all the classic favourites: tenders, Seabobs and stand-up paddleboards, ensuring that charter guests have the utmost enjoyment on the waves. Dawo has a top speed of 17 knots and cruises comfortably at 12.5 knots.

Where will Dawo be cruising?

Dawo is available for charter with Camper and Nicholsons with a weekly rate from €160,000. For her inaugural summer season, the 37-metre will be cruising around the Croatian islands where she still has availability.
