Want to charter a superyacht that’ll turn heads wherever she drops anchor thanks to a striking exterior that makes her stand out from the crowd? Take a look inside the champagne-coloured DB9 as she joins the YPI charter fleet, ready to dazzle both guests and onlookers in the Caribbean and Mediterranean this year.

DB9 has a uniquely coloured exterior that is known to turn heads

Key details

Launched by US shipyard Palmer Johnson in 2010 but recently refitted in 2020, DB9 measures 52.3 metres LOA. She was designed inside and out by Nuvolari Lenard and can accommodate up to 12 guests and 11 crew members.

Why DB9 is the perfect charter yacht

Wrapped within a dazzling package that saw her nominated for a World Superyacht Award, the champagne-hued DB9 boasts luxurious interiors and fast speeds. A highlight of her elegant interiors finished in light woods is her full-beam, ensuite master stateroom – a secluded retreat entered via a private staircase and offering an impressive walk-in wardrobe. A spacious saloon complete with a lounge, cocktail bar and formal dining area offers a socialising hub indoors when the weather makes her outdoor spaces less desirable.

The star feature of DB9 is her outdoor spaces

It’s perhaps unsurprising that given her sporty look, DB9 is also a fast yacht. Powered by twin MTU engines, she can hit top speeds of 32.5 knots. At a comfortable cruising speed of 24 knots, DB9 also boasts a range of 4,000 nautical miles, meaning she can cover plenty of ground on a fun-filled itinerary to make sure charter guests can see the most of their chosen destination.

What’s special about DB9?

The exterior of DB9 is standout in every aspect, from her sleek design to the ample al fresco spaces specially designed for enjoying the great outdoors. A former owner, who described her as a superyacht “movie star,” explained; “It’s unbelievable the attention you get anywhere you go with her. There are so many white and black boats out there, but she has a champagne hue with a different shape.”

As the first hull from the PJ 170 SportYacht range by Palmer Johnson, DB9 is the only yacht from the series to feature an open sundeck that boasts a hot tub, an open-air cinema, al fresco lounges, a barbecue, bar, and party-mode sound system for entertaining on board.

DB9 is new to the YPI charter fleet

The sundeck pool is just one of three swimming areas on board; an additional eight metre pool is located on the bow as well as another in the beach club, just above the bathing platform for an even closer connection to the sea.

DB9 is managed for charter by YPI with a weekly rate starting from €250,000. She is also offered for sale with an asking price starting from €25,000,000.
