Key details

Constructed as a collaborative project between Dutch pedigree shipyards Oceanco and Vitters, Aquijo was delivered in 2016. The sailing yacht measures 86 metres LOA and was penned by Tripp Design. Up to 12 guests can be accommodated on board across seven cabins, alongside 17 members of crew.

Why Aquijo is the perfect charter yacht

Aquijo is ideal for charterers looking for a true sailing experience without forfeiting on space or amenities. Her bold and stylish interiors by Dӧlker + Voges offer a range of entertaining spaces, including a formal dining table for 24 in the main saloon as well as al fresco dining on the aft deck with a barbecue.

There are no less than three cocktail bars on board, and one even has a beer tap. Other amenities include an elevator, sundeck spa pool and a lower deck beach club complete with a swimming platform.

Another highlight on board Aquijo is the master suite, equipped with his and hers bathrooms, and a private terrace able to host intimate al fresco meals. The dining table is gimbaled to ensure guests don’t spill their champagne while enjoying the views.

What’s special about Aquijo?

Measuring an impressive 86 metres LOA and offering an interior volume of 1,538GT, Aquijo is considered the world’s largest high-performance sailing ketch. As such, she is unusual for offering the space and amenities often found on a motor yacht, while still providing charterers with the exhilarating feeling of cruising under sail at a top speed of 15 knots. Especially notable is her impressive wellness centre; encompassing a steam room, sea-view Jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation lounge, such a space is practically unheard of on sailing yachts.

Aquijo has also been specially designed for charterers to fully disconnect and immerse themselves in the sailing experience at sea. Unusually, the guest cabins are TV-free to add a sense of escapism from the everyday. Two TVs can however be installed upon request if required.

Aquijo is managed for charter by Edmiston with a weekly charter rate starting from €550,000 per week. She is available in the Caribbean islands this winter from February 10, 2022, onwards.
