Italian shipyards Wider and Pajot Custom Yachts have added an entry-level model to their crossbrand Eco Yacht line of eco-conscious catamarans.
The designers have dubbed the new Eco Yacht 88 model a 'space craft', on account of its high-volume interiors and efficient design.
Equipped with 50 square metres of solar panels to drive the eco-electric propulsion, the Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 88 is offered as an aluminium build with a "boomless" mainsail that allows for easy, yet high-performance, cruising.
Manoeuvrability is further enhanced thanks to two retractable centreboards, as well as the hull platform’s position, which sits 1.55 metres above the surface of the water. When retracted, the shallow draft allows easy access to shallow-water cruising regions including the Bahamas and Sardinia.
One of the model’s on-board highlights is the trademark "VIP beach cabins", which sit on the aft and span 20 square metres each. These create a unique waterfront lounge area that allows guests to truly feel at one with the ocean.
In terms of interiors, the Wider-Pajot Eco Yacht 88 offers a huge amount of space for prospective buyers, including a 70 square metre main saloon, a 12 square metre galley, a 50 square metre flybridge and a 27 square metre forward-positioned owner's cabin.
The owner's cabin can include a Jacuzzi, and there is provision for a crew of between three to four.
“It is important to appreciate that even with this exceptional volume, elegant design coupled with stunning lines, are not compromised,” the yard has said.
Construction will take place at the Wider shipyard in Anonca, with early orders scheduled to be delivered in just 20 months' time.
