The 30.2-metre yacht Why has been salvaged following an incident last week that saw her run aground and collide with a pier. She was recovered by the 40-metre tug Pantanassa.

According to local media outlets, the superyacht became stranded during strong winds in the area. No one was injured.

Why has sustained some damage to her bow following the collision but should be fit to cruise again soon following repairs.

Efforts have been made to inspect the surroundings for resulting pollution.

The yacht was built by Italian shipyard Posillipo-Rizzardi in 2004 as one of their sporty Technema models, and can reach top speeds of 29 knots.

She found a new owner in April last year, and was sold with a last known asking price of €1,780,000.
