Picchiotti, a brand of The Italian Sea Group (TISG), has revealed the first renderings of its new line of Gentleman yachts designed to celebrate the “golden age of yachting”, according to TISG founder and CEO Giovanni Costantino.
Measuring between 24 to 55 metres in length, the line was first introduced in July 2022 and the first hull in the series, a 24-metre, has already completed the welding phase and is on track for delivery in 2024.
The new yacht line has been penned by Luca Dini and his team, with Kurt Lehmann of Yacht Moments providing consultancy. The series is tailored towards “owners who want to stand out, but are also well acquainted with tradition and the concept of gentleman yachts,” according to Dini.
Built in aluminium, the Picchiotti models will have an increased eco focus with an ultra-efficient hull design and the option to include hybrid or full-electric propulsion.
The 24-metre model is the only model in the line that will be available in two slightly modified formats: the traditional "enclosed" stern with unfolding sea terraces and the option of an open aft, which provides a more modern beach club feel.
The new Gentleman line signals the rebirth of Picchiotti, one of Italy's oldest established shipyards. The relaunch came just six months after TISG acquired Picchiotti and sister company Perini Navi. Costantino has commented: “I am very proud to give a new voice to a brand that represents the heritage of the entire nautical industry - one of the oldest shipyards in the world."
Across its four new-build yards, TISG has 17 projects under construction, according to BOATPro.
