Sunseeker celebrates delivering their 100th yacht over 30 metres today at Cannes boat show. Phil Popham, CEO of Sunseeker, said of the achievement: “This is a momentous occasion which is truly worth recognising and I am delighted to be joining our costumers and colleagues from around the world to celebrate our milestone of delivering 100 luxury yachts over 100 feet.”
In 2000 Sunseeker moved into the superyacht market and released their first 30m+ yacht, the 105. Originally named The Snapper (now Shereen), she was met with critical acclaim and won two superyacht design awards.
Since then, Sunseeker has added other superyacht models to its portfolio: the 101 Sport Yacht, the 84 Predator and the flagship 155 Yacht have cemented its position within the superyacht industry within just fifteen years. During that time, Sunseeker produced an average of seven yachts a year from their centralised base of operations in Poole.
Sunseeker isn’t stopping at 100; yesterday the yard released the first renderings of the anticipated new addition to the fleet, the Sunseeker 95 Yacht. Director of Sales Sean Roberson says: “As the third in a series of product launches we have set for early 2016, this is further evidence of our commitment to invest in developing new exciting models which lead the way in technical and design innovation; providing our customers with the best possible choice within their preferred size range."
