Following the success of Sunrise Yachts last year with large-yacht new orders, the Turkish yard has decided to expand its productivity with a new and larger facility.
Based in the free zone of Antalya, this additional space offers 9,000sqm for new construction and refit activities. It is composed of three sheds of 75m x 18m and one shed of 46m x 16m. All of them have an height of 24m.
The first hulls, the two 63m superyachts (hull 601 and hull 632), were moved into this new facility last week. The 57m diesel-electric superyacht (hull 561) will join them later this year. These three projects are designed by Espen Oeino with deliveries scheduled between 2014 and 2015.
Jean-Claude Carme, Vice-President of Sunrise Yachts, also added: 'Six hundred square meters of additional space will be occupied by expanded design and engineering and project management teams. In the last twenty-four months, Sunrise Yachts staff grew from forty-five to one hundred and seventy-five full-time employees. The company is in the process of obtaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 certification.'
Busy for the coming years, Sunrise Yachts is already thinking of the future with this new facility. The company is also working on new superyacht concepts up to 70 metres in length.
