Scott Gillen of Malibu real estate design studio Unvarnished has revealed the custom interior design of a 49 metre in-build Rossinavi superyacht.
Gillen, whose studio creates custom curated homes along the Malibu coast, was commissioned to design the interior of the high-performance yacht after being introduced to the yard and exterior design Fulvio de Simoni by Justin Blue, the chief executive of broker Yachtsblue.
"As a designer and creator, I'm always looking to do something bigger and better. When it comes to superyachts, adding my signature style to an incredible Rossinavi creation is a challenging and exciting step," Gillen said.
The resulting interior is “one of the most unconventional designs you’ve ever seen in a yacht of this calibre”, according to Gillen.
Designed as an “extension” of the owner’s home, the interior will encapsulate a “true sense of sanctuary” with a “laid back but luxurious vibe”.
The open space concept will reflect the exterior of the “high-performance, speed-driven” superyacht, which has a construction period of three years.
The design will feature materials such as teak, oak and walnut woods with stainless steel details and a custom colour scheme for the hull and superstructure. An art-deco theme will be found throughout the guest accommodations, saloon, beach club and media room.
Speaking about the collaboration, Rossinavi CCO Federico Rossi said: “The cooperation between Rossinavi and Unvarnished was born in the desire to maintain the sporty character of the boat without losing the vision of spaces, ergonomics and stylishness.”
He added that the superyacht will be “an extremely lightweight superyacht with a super sporty attitude” reaching top speeds of more than 30 knots.
Gillen is best known for The Malibu Series, a collection of luxury residences located along the Malibu coastline.
In 2020, Rossinavi delivered the 52m superyacht Florentia and 50m EIV.
