Sanlorenzo has announced the sale of a new 73 metre superyacht that will form the flagship of the fleet. The sale was finalised by Fraser, and the yacht will mark the first in a new 73Steel series.
The contract brings Sanlorenzo’s number of metal yachts sold in 2022 up to nine.
The yacht will be equipped with an innovative diesel-electric propulsion system that aims to reduce emissions, and its layout will be “completely unconventional”, according to the yard.
Exteriors come from Zuccon International Project, and the focus of the design will be connecting interior and exterior areas with a decor concept that Sanlorenzo claims will be both innovative and revolutionary.
"The design of the new 73Steel represents a fascinating new chapter in the yard's history, not only because of its size, which is currently the largest ever built, but also because it is a testament to how strongly the company believes in the evolution of the market,” commented Bernardo Zuccon, of Zuccon International.
Zuccon added that the design aims to convey principles of extreme dynamism, sportiness and contemporary style. “ It is exactly this subtle dialogue between the search for a strong stylistic identity and a constant inspiration to stylistic features now consolidated within the brand's DNA, that is the perfect interpretative key to this project,” he added.
Sanlorenzo has called the project “visionary” in its focus on bringing the outside world in, with plenty of space for entertaining larger groups as well as hosting more intimate gatherings.
The yard has collaborated extensively with Zuccon in the past, most notably on the popular Alloy series.
