US-headquartered shipyard Nordhavn has revealed the "casual-luxury" interiors of the second hull in its 24.5-metre N80 series, ourtheory. The expedition yacht arrived at Nordhavn’s California office at the end of January, having spent most of her construction time under the tight restrictions caused by the pandemic.
Nordhavn’s chief of design, Jeff Leishman led the design of hulls one and two, but the interiors vary greatly thanks to the shipyard's scope for customisation.
Owed to James Glover, ourtheory's interiors are designed to echo the owners' Southern California home. The rooms incorporate beachy neutrals, light-walnut cabinetry, natural textures and plush furniture, meant to emphasise comfort and familiarity. The heavily-veined marble featured in countertops throughout the entire yacht carries a modern, organic theme from room to room.
A tri-deck layout is complemented by a winding external staircase servicing the al fresco living area. The main deck extends from the saloon, which boasts an open-plan layout revealing lounging, bar and dining spaces. Sliding glass doors seamlessly connect the two areas. A casual alfresco dining arrangement overlooks a beach club, easily accessed by a small flight of stairs on either side of the transom.
Moving towards the bow, the well-appointed galley is tucked in discreetly before the full-beam master forward, which houses his and her wardrobes and an office. The remaining accommodation comprises three further cabins on the lower deck for a total of eight guests, all with en suite facilities.
An upper deck saloon is positioned adjacent to the wheelhouse while up on the flybridge, guests are welcomed by a circular Jacuzzi aft and with wide bench seats near the helm.
Built entirely in GRP, ourtheory has a beam of 7.1 metres and a draught of 2.1 metres. ourtheory is powered by twin 375hp John Deere engines.
According to BOAT Pro, two more Nordhavn 80's are currently under construction, with delivery scheduled for 2024.
