The latest edition of the New Zealand Millennium Cup drew to a close yesterday, an event which saw the regatta crowd return to Auckland for the first time in a decade. Four days of racing in the "City of Sails" culminated in the 60-metre Perini Navi Perseus^3 and 20.2-metre Gunboat catamaran Outnumbered being crowned the overall winners in the Millennium Cup division and Multihull division, respectively.

Outnumbered

Perseus^3 won two of her three races in the Auckland superyacht regatta, with repeat contender and three-time winner 34.2-metre Royal Huisman Sassafras clinching the lead on the second day. Alloy Yachts' 39.7-metre Janice of Wyoming was ranked third. Ultimately, it was a heroic win for the Perini Navi on the final day of racing on Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.

In the Multihull division, Outnumbered also secured herself two victories across the three races, with the 20-metre Jon Douglas-built yacht Kotuku claiming the other (Monday). Her sistership, the 18.5-metre catamaran Cat+ Ion from the drawing board of Roger Hill Yacht Design, won third place.
