The 36.8-metre Nordhavn motor yacht Aurora has collided with the 362-metre Royal Caribbean cruise ship Allure of the Seas in the Bahamas.
The incident occurred on 11 December while Allure of the Seas was docked in Nassau during a four-day cruise. Available footage shows Aurora's bow strike the cruise ship and then drift along her port side. A crew member then attempts to prevent further damage to the Nordhavn by putting her fenders in place.
The extent of damage to both vessels is unknown, though according toBOATPro Aurora is still in the Bahamas and docked near Paradise Island. Her declared destination is Florida, US. No injuries have been reported.
Delivered in 2013, Aurora is the only Nordhavn 120 and the flagship model of the US-headquartered yard. She has an exterior design by Jeff Leishman and interiors by Destry Darr Designs. Design highlights include a full wet bar, a butler's counter with storage for china and a Jacuzzi on the sundeck. She was most recently sold in 2021 at a last known asking price of $12,900,000.
BOAT International will update the story as it develops.
