Mulder Design reveals 50m superyacht concept designed around quality family time

6 March 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

Dutch studio Mulder Design has revealed a new 50-metre superyacht concept known as Project Sharp, designed around "the value of spending quality time with family and friends". According to the studio, the concept has been penned with a "fresh perspective".

Project Sharp is characterised by her minimalist, elegant profile with stretching sharp lines and sweeping panes of glazing. In addition to quality family time, the concept has been curated around "enjoying precious moments on and in the water", with a strong emphasis on creating a synergy between the interiors and the outside environment.

This is achieved, in part, by the spacious interiors – notably voluminous due to the 2.2-metre-high ceilings – bathed in natural light and simultaneously benefitting from panoramic vistas thanks to full-height windows.

The harmonious connection to the outside continues across each of her exterior spaces. There is a "walk-around deck" offering scenic views across every angle of the yacht: the same feature found on her private sun deck. Meanwhile, the aft deck is large and open, with steps leading to a swim platform and beach club lounge that offers easy access to the treasure chest of toys and tender – perfect for exploration further afield.

The family-orientated features continue on the foredeck, which is home to a 6.5-metre-long pool with wrap-around sun pad. According to the design studio, this space is also one of the many al fresco seating and lounging arrangements on board.

Project Sharp can accommodate up to 10 guests on board within her minimal volume of 500GT. She also has a low draught that allows for exploring the shallow waters of the Caribbean on a "long-term" adventure. The design studio will also offer three engine configurations for the superyacht.

Notably, Project Sharp marks the second superyacht concept from the design studio since September 2024, with the monumental 115-metre White Coral announced shortly after founder Frank Mulder won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 BOAT International Design & Innovation Awards
