The 77.8 metre Amels Custom 78 has left the Damen Yachting shipyard in Vlissingen following her delivery to her owner.
She will now embark on an ambitious global itinerary under private usage, flaunting an Espen Øino exterior with generous overhangs on the superstructure and long lines of bulwarks across her decks.
The yacht's general arrangement has also been designed by Øino with interior styling by Francois Zuretti.
The yacht is now the second largest member of the Amels fleet according to GT. She features a 2,885 GT, falling slightly short of the shipyard's current 86 metre flagship Here Comes The Sun and its 2,956 gross tonnage.
The yacht embodies the owner’s “unique yachting vision”, according to the yard. Key features include an open-top deck, generous aft deck pool and extra wide side decks that can be utilised as private guest balconies
The yacht was sold at the Monaco Yacht Show 2017. Now named Energy, the yacht marks a strong collaboration between the yard and the owner’s team and is the first custom build to see delivery since Amels introduced its popular Limited Editions concept.
The delivery comes after the yacht undertook sea trials in September 2021. "Heading out into dramatic weather today, the Custom Amels 78 blew us away with her powerful lines worthy of any seas," the yard has previously said.
The delivery frees up space for two other recently launched projects: the 60 metre Project Witchcraft and the 60 metre Project Snow.
