33m Lusail Queen strikes reef in Qatar

A 32.7 metre Gulf Craft Majesty 105 model named Lusail Queen has run aground after striking a shallow reef in Doha, Qatar. 

In footage shared on social media on Friday, November 18, the yacht was seen listing to port in shallow water. It is unclear whether she has been removed from this position since the incident.

A local source told BOAT International that the yacht had recently been sold and the yacht and its crew were not accustomed to cruising in Qatar. "Without knowledge of its waters, such incidents unfortunately happen and has happened a lot before," said the source. 

The cause of the incident remains unclear, but footage shows several people on board the yacht working to working to mitigate damage. 

Majesty 105 models are built in composite and feature a five-cabin layout with a draft of 1.78 metres.
