Following her launch in May, Golden Yachts has offered a first look inside its 78-metre motor yacht O'Rea, which is set to make her global debut at this year's Monaco Yacht Show.
The contract for the new build was signed in 2021 with Stefano Vafiadis – a long-time collaborator of the Greek shipyard – designing a contemporary plumb bow that differs from the flared bows of previous models, the likes of O'Pari and O'Ptasia. In addition, O'Rea incorporates elongated trapezium-shaped windows that give her a more aggressive profile than her predecessors.
Vafiadis also handled the yacht's interior styling in collaboration with Italian studio Massari Design, which most recently partnered with Golden Yachts on its flagship Project X.
O'Rea offers eight generous guest cabins including a large owner's suite with an adjoined private office. According to the design team, more than 250 finishes, including rich materials and precious stones, have been included throughout.
“Going up the staircase that connects the various decks, one is struck by many refined details and precious materials, including polished marble steps, decorated and backlit vertical panelling, chandeliers that penetrate the stairwell from the upper deck to the main deck with a polished champagne-coloured metal structure and glass elements with three-dimensional patterns and different colour gradients,” said Studio Massari.
Elsewhere, an upper deck lounge holds a piano, Lasvit glass chandelier and an extensive audio-visual system that means the space can be used for movie nights. The yacht will also be home to a collection of contemporary artwork curated by Vasilis Dragnis in collaboration with Anna Chatzinassiou.
Key features of O'Rea include a large swimming pool that sits transversely on the main deck aft, with three skylights at the bottom filtering natural light into the beach house below. Moving through the space, guests are greeted by a "health bar" near the entrance and ushered into a lounge area with multiple seating, dining and sunbathing options. The deck also features a wellness centre forward, complete with a hammam, sauna and massage room.
On the technical side, O'Rea is fitted with a Dynamic Positioning System (DPS) that allows her to hold her place without dropping anchor.
Once delivered, the yacht be available for charter with Golden Yachts' associated brokerage firm Atalanta Golden Yachts, with the firm reporting an already booked-up summer season.
