Boat International Media is a global authority in superyachting. We publish the world’s best superyacht magazines and luxury books, organise high quality events, and provide digital media services and data to owners and professionals in the superyacht industry. Boat International Media is headquartered in the United Kingdom but with group companies in the United States.

Personal data that we collect
Boat International Media collects data to operate effectively and provide you with the best experience from our products and services.
Some of this data will have been provided directly by you, such as when you create a Boat International Account, subscribe to a mailing list, purchase a product or subscription, submit an enquiry relating to Yachts for Sale or For Charter, register for an event, enquire about a subscription to one of our products, or contact us for support.
We’ll also get some of the data by recording how you interact with our products and services, for example, using technologies like cookies as explained further under the heading “Cookies and similar tracking technology” below.

Providing and improving our products and services. We use data to provide and improve the products and services we offer and to perform essential business operations. This includes operating the products and services, maintaining and improving the performance of the products and services, developing new features, conducting research and providing customer support. Examples of such uses include the following:

For example, we may contact you by phone or email to let you know that a subscription is coming to an end, notify you of changes to your account, let you know about security updates or privacy updates, remind you about items left in your online shopping basket, invite you to participate in a survey, provide you with important information relating to a purchase or subscription, or tell you that you need to take an action to activate your account. - We may share data we collect with third parties, such as Facebook or LinkedIn, to enable us to deliver ads to you relating to Boat International Media products or services that you have previously engaged with
BOATPro mobile app location services. For the purpose of finding the closest yacht nearest to your location, we have enabled location services on the BOATPro mobile app. We use various technologies to determine location, including IP address and GPS. Location data, with the user's permission, is only used while the app is being used. Location data is neither stored by us, nor is it being associated with your personal data. We also do not share location data with third parties. You can disable location services at any time via your phone settings.
Legal basis for processing personal information
Our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described above will depend on the personal information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it.
However, we will normally collect personal information from you only (i) where we need the personal information to perform a contract with you, (ii) where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your rights, or (iii) where we have your consent to do so.
