The first model in Van der Valk's BeachClub 600 range has begun sea trials alongside the first 20.5 metre BeachClub 660 Flybridge.

It comes after the semi-custom 19.05 metre yacht hit the water for the first time last month in the Netherlands. Following sea trials, the yacht will attend a number of "major" boat shows.

A second model in the 20.5 metre BeachClub 660 Flybridge range is also under construction, and on track for delivery this summer.

With naval architecture by Ginton Naval Architects and both exterior and interior design by Cor D Rover, the all-aluminium yachts have a “contemporary and dynamic appearance,” the yard said.

The models will be perfectly suited to “sailing hotspots,” such as the South of France, Florida and the Caribbean.

Both models feature increased interior and exterior volume, the yard said, a feat achieved by placing the engine compartment within the swimming platform.

The move “opens up tremendous amounts of uninterrupted space on the lower deck,” the yard said.

As a result, the yachts boast three exterior spaces, the beach deck with sunlounge, aft deck and foredeck. The interior meanwhile comprises an upper saloon with an indoor helm station, lower deck saloon and accommodation quarters.

Both yachts are available in four interior styles created by Cor D Rover called Ibiza, Sardegna, Mallorca and Corse. Alternatively, clients can create an interior of their own choosing.

Yard manager Bram Kooltjes previously said: “The fact that Van der Valk builds the hulls gives us total control of the planning and quick turnaround times for any changes requested by the owner. Our close partnership with Ginton Naval Architects and Cor D Rover has enabled us to look at the model from every possible angle and this continues to be a truly inspiring project.”

The BeachClub 600 is fitted with twin Volvo Penta IPS-950 engines for a top speed of 25 knots while the BeachClub 660 Flybridge will be equipped with two Volvo Penta IPS-1050 engines for a top speed of 30 knots.
