Taiwanese-based shipyard Horizon has delivered its first tri-deck FD110 model, which will be making its debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this week.
The 33.5 metre model was sold to repeat owners based in the United States and takes its place as flagship of Horizon's FD (Fast Displacement) line. The couple upgraded from a Horizon FD92 model and the new yacht was handed over in a private ceremony held at Horizon Yacht USA’s Hall of Fame marina location in Fort Lauderdale.
Featuring an exterior profile by Cor D. Rover, the FD110 is characterised by full-height windows, elongated decks and 250GT of interior volume. Accommodation is offered for a total of ten guests in five cabins, with a large, light-drenched owner’s cabin on the main deck and four en suite cabins on the lower deck. Crew quarters for six are located on the lower deck forward with a dedicated laundry and pantry.
Italian lighting firm Slamp has used sculptural light fixtures alongside a blend of washed wenge wood and dark oak to create the yacht’s sophisticated interior. Polished chrome and pops of muted colour feature throughout.
The FD110 draws its inspiration from residential design. "The style throughout emphasises natural finishes, subtle coloring and clean, modern elements,” the yard said in a statement. “Stained walnut mimics the coziness of aged wood, while muted lacquer in French grey lightens up the tone overall.” In the galley, Cambria stone has been used to give the yacht a luxury finish, which even features throughout the service areas.
Entertainment and relaxation are the cornerstones of the yacht’s design. The FD110 boasts a large saloon with a dayhead and multi-purpose dining area that can serve as a breakfast bar or formal dining arrangement. It is connected to the exterior by sliding glass doors, which together with the large windows, contribute to a bright ambiance.
Opportunities to unwind continue on the exterior, where the yacht is equipped with a large sundeck complete with a sunpad. There is also an enclosed skylounge with a wet bar, wine cooler and dayhead, that leads out onto an aft deck with an L-shaped sofa that can be shaded by an awning. The FD110 also makes full use of its foredeck, which boasts its own Jacuzzi and Portuguese bridge.
Twin Caterpillar engines power the yacht and deliver a top speed of 21 knots. The owners plan to begin cruising the US East Coast and Bahamas and she will be available on the charter market with Yacht Connexion.
Horizon's flagship line has proved popular already, with at least five units sold since it was released to the market.
