83m Feadship superyacht Sakura on maiden voyage

2 August 2024 • Written by Dea Jusufi

The 82.9-metre Feadship superyacht Sakura, previously known as Project 712, has been sighted on her maiden voyage. According to BOATPro, she is anchored in La Ciotat, a commune in France.

Little is known about the sub-2,000GT yacht, but images indicate a plumb bow, unfolding terraces in the beach club, a forward-loading tender garage and a bow that appears to be heli-capable. A glass-fronted swimming pool can also be seen on the aft deck, emblazoned with the name Sakura.

The superyacht's naval architecture comes from de Voogt, while the interiors are understood to be by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design. Construction began in 2020 with Sakura hitting the water for the first time in March 2024.

She was previously sighted on transport to Aalsmeer, the Netherlands for outfitting, where she travelled over 85 kilometres through the Dutch waterways by tug.

Sakura has followed in the footsteps of the 91.8-metre Drizzle as the second superyacht to be delivered by Feadship this July.

The Dutch shipyard also recently hit the headlines with the reveal of another highly secretive build: Project 717. Delivery is scheduled for 2026 with construction being overseen by Edmiston.
