Dubai International Boat Show Postponed Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

2 March 2020 • Written by Miranda Blazeby

Organisers of the 2020 Dubai International Boat Show have announced the event is to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The announcement follows a string of other cancellations and postponements in the industry, including the Japan International Boat Show, which has been cancelled, and boat shows in Taiwan and Singapore, which have been pushed back.

The Dubai International Boat Show, which was originally due to take place from March 10-14, will now take place from November 24-28.

A statement issued on behalf of the boat show said the decision had been taken “after much deliberation in consultation with the event’s main industry stakeholders and partners.”

“We have a high majority of key participants significant to the event’s programme that are unable to travel due to restrictions in their home country.”

It added that organisers “continue to focus on prioritising the delivery of a strong international participation in these extraordinary times.”

The event will be held at Dubai Harbour and will operate at “full capacity” while coinciding with the Expo Dubai 2020.
