New Zealand-based shipyard Circa Marine has introduced a new model to its range with the Circa SXV 40. The 40 metre platform builds on the success of the 24 metre Circa model and has been conceived as a multipurpose model suitable for use as an explorer yacht, support vessel or research vessel. Design comes from Auckland-based firm LOMOceanMarine.
Built entirely in aluminium, the SXV 40 will offer plenty of scope for customisation with a proposed accommodation layout which includes four guest cabins and four crew cabins.
The SXV 40 has been designed with a nine-metre beam and twin 1,800 engines giving her a top speed of 18 knots and a fuel capacity of 60,000 litres. A large 126-square-metre aft deck will allow plenty of space for storing toys and tenders including a helicopter, submarine or any other gadgets and accessories.
“After the successful development of the Circa 24 and after discussions with several parties, we decided a larger 40 metre platform offers a great deal of versatility and capability,” a representative of the yard said.
Circa Marine has six yachts in its fleet and the current flagship is 33.5 metre Iceberg.
