Germany yard Abeking and Rasmussen has been commissioned to build a 120m+ superyacht, it has been announced.
The yard announced that the contract for the new build was signed in the summer. When complete the superyacht will become the largest ever yacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen.
No other details, including the exterior and interior designers, or a rendering of the project have been revealed.
It comes as the builder gave a construction update on its in-build 118 metre superyacht Project 6507, which has now begun outfitting. The yacht is due for delivery in 2022 at which point it will become the flagship of the yard before being swiftly superseded by the 120m+ project.
Overseen by Cornelsen & Partner, Project 6507 features exterior and interior design penned by French architect Joseph Dirand. Standout features include a large swimming pool and a glass-fronted Neptune lounge. The yacht will also feature an extensive toybox, with multiple tenders, toys and a personal submarine.
