The 53-metre highly-customised Sanlorenzo motor yacht Oceanbird has joined the market with Steen Christensen of SuperYachtsMonaco.
Delivered in 2021, having spent an additional year in the Italian yard for major upgrading work, the steel and aluminium Sanlorenzo 52 Steel model boasts an interior for a party of 10 like no other.
Oceanbird's master suite, spanning the entire upper deck, is rightly described as an "owner's penthouse" and includes a cigar lounge and a fireplace on the aft terrace. Its bathroom, with underfloor heating, features a bathtub by the windows.
There is a guest "Presidential" suite on the main deck and another large, full-beam VIP suite on the lower deck – with a centrally-positioned, glass-walled shower – along with two more guest cabins. The gymnasium users benefit from a hull door allowing for fresh air and views while working out al fresco. The crew quarters accommodate 12 crew.
The yacht’s distinctive design features rounded walls and corners with no straight edges, complemented by backlit onyx and marble finishes and a high-end sound system throughout the vessel. Full-height windows and glass bulwarks make for a bright interior with excellent views out.
Complementing the galley, Oceanbird features a "Room of Temptation" that "leaves nothing to be desired". The entire room is designed with rounded edges and glass-fronted fridges. Guests will find a large wine and champagne fridge, aged beef, and a selection of caviar and cheeses, "all presented with meticulous attention to detail."
The main saloon offers a view into the Room of Temptation and features furniture from Elie Saab Maison and Boca do Lobo. The ceiling, shaped like waves and rounded circles includes a large television that lifts electronically. Glass sliding doors throughout the living space can open fully, allowing guests to enjoy a refreshing breeze.
The broker pointed out that Oceanbird is the only Sanlorenzo 52 Steel with a full glass-front sundeck extended both fore and aft, giving it a unique profile as well as vast space to relax on – "comparable to the sundeck of a 70-metre". The teak-decked sundeck extension includes a Jacuzzi, a dining table for up to 10 guests, and a bar with a built-in barbecue. Further upholstered deck seating and sunpads are found on the foredeck.
On the aft deck, a five-metre by two-metre glass-bottomed pool is a standout feature, allowing natural light to filter through to the welcoming beach club below.
The beach club features two folding terraces – one on each side of the yacht – serving as raised platforms with direct access to the sea. This area can quickly transform into a float-in garage thanks to its controlled flooding system, allowing for the storage of a tender up to eight metres.
Twin MTU diesels give the 499GT, ABS-classed yacht for sale a top speed of 19 knots and cruising speed of 15 knots. Range is 4,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
