The 50.6-metre modern-classic sailing yacht Borkumriff IV has received a price drop of €1,000,000 with Arne Ploch and Tommaso Bilotta of Camper & Nicholsons.
Borkumriff IV bears the profile of a classic schooner and is the product of a collaboration between Dutch yard Royal Huisman, John G Alden and Dykstra Naval Architects. Delivered in 2002, she pays tribute to traditional Newfoundland schooners and has had the same owners since new.
Borkumriff IV is rigged as a two-masted schooner with a profile defined by two deckhouses – the forward one serving as an upper saloon and navigation area, the aft one an on-deck crew lounge adjacent to the two aft crew cabins. Between the two houses, Borkumriff IV carries a pair of open cockpits, the forward one for guest relaxation and the aft for steering and sail management.
An interior by classic design maestro John Munford in fine-grained mahogany and teak accommodates six guests in three cabins comprising a full-beam master suite with a separate study, and two twin cabins amidships, all with en suite bathrooms.
The schooner-rigged masts, booms and gaff by Rondal and the bank of stainless-steel winches are designed to comfortably deal with any conditions encountered. Under power, a single 1,057hp MTU engine enables a comfortable cruising speed of 10 knots, topping out at 12 knots. The yacht for sale carries two tenders on her teak decks and can also boast the addition of two canons, which are used to mark the lowering of the flag at sunset.
Borkumriff IV is now asking €11,900,00 with VAT paid. She is lying in Palma de Mallorca.
