The 46.63 metre Feadship motor yacht Excellence, jointly listed for sale with Burgess, Merle Wood & Associates and HMY Yacht Sales, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Merle Wood & Associates.
Built to ABS class by Feadship to a design by De Voogt, Excellence has an aluminium hull and GRP superstructure and was delivered in 2001 as Detroit Eagle.
Continuously upgraded and recently refitted in 2019, her John Munford interior offers accommodation for up to ten guests in a main-deck master suite, double VIP suite and two twin cabins with two Pullman berths, all with full en-suite bathroom facilities.
All the interior bulkheads are honeycomb-cored to reduce weight and keep the centre of gravity low, while the furnishings are built from lightweight materials. For example, the rich madrona and lighter anigre interior joinery are veneer, vacuum-bagged over a foam or honeycomb core.
Soft textures and simple patterns in the furnishings make the interior warm and inviting. Particularly effective is the use of woven leather wall coverings in the main stairwell and on the bulkheads concealing the vast air intakes. Meanwhile, the dining room doubles as a conference room and it can be closed off from the saloon by an etched-glass sliding door.
Twin 3,650hp MTU engines are linked to a 5,600hp Lycoming/DDC gas turbine giving a total of 12,900hp to deliver a top speed of 35 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles at 11 knots.
Excellence was asking $14,995,000.
