Sold in February 2014, the 39.6 metre expedition yacht Phoenix is back on the market, listed for sale by Steve Reoch at All Ocean Yachts.
Built by Davie Shipbuilding and launched in 1973, she has served as an expedition and research vessel, and is ice sheathed with a range capable of travelling halfway around the world. She had a thorough $10 million-plus conversion in 2004/2008 in Rockland, Maine, and now has a new yacht interior and all systems refurbished or replaced. A large crane and deck space allow for research and tender or submarine deployment and storage on this yacht for sale.
The current owners carried out a further refit in 2016/17 including a new drone deck and have spent the past three years working on humanitarian issues, rescuing over 33,000 refugees off the north coast of Africa
A modern interior in cherry wood and maple accommodates 10 guests in three cabins comprising a master suite and two junior suites, each with four beds, although a flexible layout means that she can sleep up to 22 guests and staff in total.
Twin 1,200hp Caterpillar engines allow a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 12 knots.
Lying in Dubai, Phoenix is asking $3,500,000.
