The 38.71 metre classic motor yacht Grey Mist, listed for sale by Carlos Navarro at Bradford Marine Yacht Sales, has been sold with the buyer introduced by Babb Rawlings at Northrop & Johnson.
Built in steel by British yard Camper & Nicholsons to a design by Charles E Nicholson, Grey Mist was delivered in 1920 and most recently refitted in 2016, retaining most of her original features but boasting a brand-new power plant.
Accommodation, panelled throughout in rich stained wood, is for up to 14 guests in five cabins comprising a master suite, VIP suite and two doubles plus a further cabin with six bunk beds, ideal for children or young adults. All cabins have full en suite bathroom facilities while a further two cabins sleep up to five crewmembers.
The main saloon of Grey Mist features a large built-in solid wood table between two elaborate columns down the centreline of the boat, surrounded by eight renaissance sculptured fashion chairs. At the end of the table is the ship's original brass compass and binnacle. The entire main saloon is encompassed by built-in settees running the length of either side, and at the aft end of each settee is a Samsung 52-inch flatscreen television set. The saloon is also home to the bar which offers a wine cooler, two ice makers, a stainless steel sink and ample storage space.
Outdoors, the extensive aft deck has U-shaped built-in seating and two tables for al fresco entertaining and dining, sheltered by a large Bimini top. Twin 425hp John Deere diesel engines allow a cruising speed of 10 knots, topping out at 13 knots.
Grey Mist was asking $399,000.
