Classic explorer yacht Ice Lady finds new owner

21 September 2022

The 43.3 metre classic explorer yacht Ice Lady is now under new ownership following a deal secured by David Legrand at Fraser and Rino Di Maggio at Self Concept.

Ice Lady was first launched in 1959 as a Norwegian coastguard vessel by Finnish shipyard Valmet. In 2012, she underwent a complete rebuild in collaboration with French designer Francois Chevalier with interiors re-styled by Jean-Guy Verges. The refit work transformed her onboard spaces while maintaining her traditional lines and ice-breaking capabilities for adventurous cruising.

Ice Lady was asking €3,950,000.

Within her steel hull and superstructure, this explorer yacht for sale features wood-panelled interiors offering five ensuite cabins for up to 10 guests as well as accommodation for 10 crew members. The master and VIP cabins are both equipped with private Hammams and there is also a gym on board.

Her spacious decks provide plenty of opportunities for entertaining, with an outdoor cinema, an al fresco dining set up and a variety of sunpads and lounge spaces.

Ice Lady also comes with a well-stocked toybox carrying the likes of kayaks, paddleboards, waterskiing and wakeboarding gear as well as two tenders. Designed for exploring, she features a special underwater hydrophone system to listen to the sounds of whales, dolphins and other wildlife passing through the waters nearby.

Powered by a single, 1,800hp diesel Werkspoor engine, Ice Lady can reach a top speed of 12 knots and offers a cruising range of 3,000 nautical miles at a speed of 10 knots.

Ice Lady was asking €3,950,000.
