Here Comes the Sun

The biggest superyacht price drops of September

1 October 2025 • Written by Emily Dawkins

From pedigree classics to award-winning refit recipients, the month that hosts two major industry yacht shows saw superyacht sellers trim a total of €118.1 million from asking prices across 91 drops, according to data from BOATPro.

The industry witnessed several last-minute reductions in September, with sellers eager to close deals in light of the Monaco Yacht Show. BOAT rounds up five of the biggest (and most eye-catching) price drops that took place during the month, starting with a Dutch flagship.

Length: 89m
Builder: Amels
Now asking: €165,000,000 with Burgess and Y.CO

Here Comes the Sun, listed for sale with Ian Sherwood and Stéphanie Bosi of Burgess and Ben Ritchie of Y.CO, saw €20 million deducted from her sales listing on the first day of September, ahead of her third attendance at the Monaco Yacht Show. Delivered in 2017 as the flagship of the Amels fleet, the custom Tim Heywood- and Andrew Winch-designed superyacht – commissioned by a repeat client with a penchant for The Beatles - is famed not only for her length, but also for her full rebuild, which won her a Neptune for the Best Rebuilt Yacht at the 2022 World Superyacht Awards. Completed at her home shipyard in 2021, the major work included a six-metre stern extension, the addition of a second helipad, an interior revamp and a repaint from her previous beige colour to a handsome navy. With 2,955GT of interior volume, Here Comes the Sun is packed with amenities and living spaces galore.

Length: 77.8m
Builder: Amels
Now asking: €185,000,000 with Burgess and Fraser

The custom 77.8-metre Amels superyacht Energy received a €14 million price reduction the week before the Monaco Yacht Show, announced by her joint central agents, Alex Krykanyuk and Josh Gulbranson of Fraser and Peter Brown of Burgess. Energy hit the water in 2022, unveiling her Espen Øino exterior and François Zuretti interiors that were briefed to "defy convention and find ways to connect with the ocean". As a result, the 77.8-metre is host to a plethora of features, including a dedicated martial arts room and an intimate "waterfall lounge" as well as a sea-level gym, beauty salon, sauna, Hammam and beach club with bar and fold-out terrace. In even more of a delight, the top deck's helipad doubles as a sun lounge, a yoga studio with ocean views, or a vast space for parties, thanks to a large "statement bar" under cover. Energy was the third most expensive yacht for sale during the show last week.

Length: 60m
Builder: Oceanco
Now asking: $45,000,000 with Superyacht Partners

$4 million was removed from the asking price of Oceanco's 60-metre Alfa G before her Monaco Yacht Show attendance, which joined the market with Matt Albert of Superyacht Partners in February following a "transformative" refit. Built for the owner of Oceanco in 2004, Alfa G has been the recipient of several multi-million-euro refits since she first hit the water, the most recent of which won her a World Superyacht Award for Refitted Yachts this year. Works included an entire interior restyle, a full repaint, new teak decks, a new mast and the addition of a new aft terrace on the sundeck - all of which were completed in less than 10 months. Winch Design penned her original exterior and 1,184GT interior design, with her interiors later re-styled by Alexandre Thiriat in 2024 in the French designer's signature modern-chic style.

Feadship's pedigree classic motor yacht Sea Huntress was originally delivered in 1997, penned throughout by design legend Terence Disdale, yet is another recipient of a significant refit, which saw her totally overhauled and repainted from top to bottom. According to her brokers, the 55-metre has welcomed great success on the charter market thanks to her voluminous and refreshed interior, extensive deck areas and enticing amenities, including a dry heat sauna on her sundeck. Last month, Sea Huntress received a €3 million price reduction to her listing with Alex Lees-Buckley and Gaston Lees-Buckley at Camper & Nicholsons, before her at-anchor display during the Monaco Yacht Show.

A larger Jacuzzi on her 21-metre sundeck and a major interior redesign were included in the works, reimagining her originally Bannenberg & Rowell design with touches from US-based design studio A La Mer.
