48m Hanse Explorer returns to the Arctic for 2023

1 July 2022 • Written by Katia Damborsky

Luxury expedition company EYOS Expeditions has announced that the 48 metre Hanse Explorer will be returning to the icy waters of the Arctic for yacht charters in summer 2023.

According to EYOS, summer is a great time to visit the region as it will offer superb opportunities for spotting wildlife including whales, polar bears and walruses. Itinerary activities include kayaking through ancient fjords, visiting disused whaling stations and gliding past centuries-old glaciers.

Intrepid explorers will also have the chance to enjoy bird-watching, mountain hiking and visiting local villages and experiencing a different way of life.

The yacht’s go-anywhere capacities make her perfectly suited to high-latitude exploration. She was delivered in 2006 by German shipyard Fassmer and was subject to a multi-million dollar refit last year that has left her in exacting condition ready to welcome adventurous explorers.

Meanwhile, the yacht’s bright and breezy interiors are the perfect backdrop to cosy evenings indoors. Partner Ship Design and AROS Marine helmed the refit, giving the yacht a tastefully minimal theme with accents of fresh blue, zesty orange and cool neutrals.

She boasts a seven-cabin layout and is home to amenities including a saltwater jacuzzi, sauna and a cocktail area complete with a state-of-the-art audio system. Hanse Explorer is also fitted with zero-speed stabilisers for minimal noise and vibrations while underway.

Hanse Explorer is a highly popular charter yacht with plenty of appeal for both adventure-hungry explorers and luxury-loving charterers. She is one of just a handful of yachts able to cruise in the polar regions.
