On 31 October 2024, members of the BOAT International Captains’ Club gathered for a slightly spooky Halloween lūʻau, an opportunity to network and unwind after a busy day at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
The venue
The event took place around the Clipper Pool at B Ocean Resort, which was decorated with Halloween-themed Hawaiian decorations, where a DJ set the tone with lively beats.
The guests
The event welcomed superyacht captains, their senior crew and friends of BOAT International, each receiving a special goodie bag provided by Starboard Card, a superyacht financial management platform.
Habacoa - the soon-to-be largest superyacht destination marina in the Bahamas - sponsored a prize for locating the site depicted on Juan De La Casa’s first-ever map of the New World, circa 1500. The delighted winning captain took home a beautifully detailed replica of the map and a classic sextant.
The barbecue
The menu featured beers and a Hawaiian-style barbecue from Manzo Piedmontese - a U.S.-based luxury beef farm - offering a fresh beef tartare station and delicious sliders for guests to enjoy.
BOAT International would like to extend a special thank you to its event partners, Starboard Card and Habacoa, and supporting partner, Manzo Piedmontese.
