This year, BOAT International's Captains' Club cocktail event was held on the Ben Hotel rooftop in West Palm Beach in partnership with event sponsor Starboard Card. With more than 25 captains in attendance and more than 90 guests overall, this year's laid-back evening filled with drinks and hors d'oeuvre's was the largest Captains' Club event yet.
The venue
The rooftop venue on top of the Ben Hotel provided uninterrupted views of the yachts occupying the Palm Beach marina for the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show. Guests were able to lounge poolside and enjoy each other's company with a venue resident DJ adding to the evening's ambience.
The food
Food for the evening was presented in an elevated family-style buffet with pizza, chicken wings, seafood platter, lobsters and oysters making up the bulk of the menu. Guests could also help themselves to an open bar with various cocktails on offer, including a local take on a Moscow mule and a traditional old-fashioned. For a more casual feel, a selection of beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks flowed freely throughout the evening.
The event
The Captains' Club at Palm Beach offered an exclusive retreat from the busy events of the day, with the added chance to win a Garmin watch and a free three-year subscription to event sponsor Starboard Card, the innovative onboard expense management system (please note, terms and conditions applied). This year's prize was won by Olly Lewis, the captain of the 55-metre Amels superyacht Papa.
