Nautor’s Swan has entered the motor yacht market for the first time with a 13.2 metre chase boat called the Swan Shadow.
Able to reach a top speed of 55 knots, the Swan Shadow has been designed by Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén, who aimed to instil the Nautor’s Swan sailing yacht DNA into a motor yacht.
Speaking about the model, Jämsén said: “We understood the main design features to carry over from the Swan performance racing yachts and incorporated into this power boat design.
“Together we wanted to create something sporty and fun, without compromising on the elegance customers have grown to expect from a Swan.”
Nautor’s Swan president Leonardo Ferragamo revealed the yard has been considering entering the power boat market for some time.
“For so many years we’ve been thinking about launching a power boat, but we always resisted this temptation until we really felt we had something really special and unique to present. And this is what is happening with Swan Shadow,” he said.
The Swan Shadow is aimed at owners of motor or sailing yachts looking for a tender or chase boat to accompany their main yacht.
A number of optional deck layouts are available to ensure the model meets the individual demands of the owner. Key features include a walkaround, flush deck and an aft platform that can transform into a swim platform or passarelle.
Optional roof pillars and moving glass panels can be used to shelter guests from bad weather.
The boat is set up to host overnight or weekend stays, with a forward cabin and an optional crew cabin at the bow.
Various propulsion packages are available with the three outboard 300ho Mercury engines providing a cruising speed of 30 knots and top speed of 55 knots.
