British builder Sunseeker has announced a construction milestone for the first unit from its new Sunseeker 134 yacht model. Currently in build at the yard's facilities in Portland, UK, the hull of the 40.5-metre superyacht has now been removed from its mould, revealing the yacht's size and structure for the first time.
Two large cranes completed the demoulding in the presence of the yacht's owner, before the hull was transported back into the build shed to begin the next stage of construction. The yacht will now begin to take shape internally, with the integration of systems, interiors and personalised elements chosen by her owner.
The sale of hull one was announced at boot Düsseldorf in January, marking the third Sunseeker yacht commissioned by the same West Coast American owner. Delivery of the new build is scheduled for 2027.
"From bow to stern, the 134 Superyacht external design and internal layout have been developed with the sole intent of elevating the very nature of life at sea," Ewen Foster, chief design officer at Sunseeker International, commented at the yacht's lamination earlier this year.
"With an iconic profile, an effortless flow between internal and external spaces and very generous volume, every experience aboard will feel intuitive and beautifully resolved. She will be an incredibly strong statement at sea. A legacy for her owner, and for us,” he said.
The Sunseeker 134 is the first from the shipyard's renewed Superyacht Range and was first unveiled at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival as a "bold step forward" in the brand’s reimagined superyacht portfolio. It is characterised by elongated lines, reflective hull window graphics and a redesigned forward window arrangement that features reverse-angle glazing for a contemporary identity.
At the January announcement, Foster explained: "A statement of quiet power and uncompromising elegance, the Sunseeker 134 superyacht is defined by its commanding silhouette and confident presence on the water. Behind its striking exterior lies a refined world of elevated comfort, convenience and sophisticated style.”
Exterior living has been enhanced across the aft cockpit, upper deck and flybridge, which feature customisable layouts and optional features including a spa tub, extended hardtop and a flybridge helm station. Closer to the water, a "significantly extended" beach club and swim platform add to the yacht's social spaces and reinforce the model's close connection to the sea.
The interior of the 134 has been created in collaboration with Design Unlimited, offering complete creative freedom for owners looking to customise specific materials, finishes and details. The current renders reveal a warm, neutral colour palette, bathed in natural light thanks to expansive floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides.
Accommodation is across a forward main-deck master suite and five guest cabins for up to 12 guests. Meanwhile, further quarters accommodate a crew of nine.
Power for the model is from twin MTU engines, capable of delivering top speeds of up to 20 knots and a range exceeding 1,200 nautical miles at 10 knots. Advanced engineering and upgraded stabilisation systems are expected to deliver quiet and capable cruising. Key numbers include a 7.9-metre beam and a draught of 2.4 metres.
The build update comes not long after the breaking news that Sunseeker had been acquired by a consortium led by global investment company KCP Holdings, with Andres Rubio appointed as the new CEO.
According to BOATPro, the shipyard currently has 20 yachts under development. Construction on hull two from the Sunseeker 134 model is expected to begin following the demoulding of hull one.
