Naval Yachts reveals 50m explorer model designed for "uncharted waters"

Turkish yard Naval Yachts has unveiled a new 49.9-metre model known as the LXT 165. The design is characterised by geometric cutouts and a robust profile typical of explorer yachts, including broad lines and a high bow.

According to the shipyard, the LXT 165 has been tailored to travel "even in the most challenging conditions" with key specs including a 6,000 nautical miles range and a displacement of 350 tonnes. The yacht would also be built to Bureau Veritas Charter Class.

Accommodation is across five cabins, including a master cabin positioned on the upper deck and fitted with a walk-in wardrobe and office space. The remaining guest cabins are on the lower deck, three of which are VIPs. Interiors have also been styled in house, with renderings revealing a contemporary, high-contrast aesthetic that incorporates a mix of dark and light woods and contemporary art.

The shipyard prides itself on its swimming platform design, which features showers and unfolding bulwarks to increase the available space. The area can be converted into an open movie space, with underwater lights providing atmosphere at night.

Also worth noting is the beach club, which has a fully-equipped diving centre, a dining area that doubles as a semi-open lounge and Jet Ski garages that can be converted into a pool when not in use. However, the"ultimate" social hub is the flybridge, with a heated Jacuzzi with sunpads located forward and a bar, a barbecue and U-shaped dining found aft.

Alternative lounge spaces include the foredeck, which offers sunbathing and seating units and the main deck aft which has a space for al fresco dining and lounging.

Meanwhile, the upper deck is designed to accommodate a variety of water toys, with 100 square metres dedicated to an eight-metre tender boat, a four-metre rescue boat and two Jet Skis. An acrobat crane allows for easy handling and launching.

The model is powered by twin Volvo Penta engines for a top speed of 14 knots and a cruising speed of nine knots. Other key numbers include a 8.5-metre beam and a draft of 2.3 metres.
